"Growing up, Faith was crippled by her pastor father’s pressure to ignore her mathematical gifts and choose a "sensible" profession in nursing. One night at a battle camp, she had heard soldiers speak of glowing insects in the woods, so she went off in search of them for her lantern. Following their directions, she stumbled across a large, glowing light and strange music. She approached and was met by a gathering of nomads, mystics, and thieves, blitzed by good drink and good times, dancing around a fire. They welcomed her to join them and spent hours partying as they went on about numerology, astrology, and fortune telling. She wished to stay forever, but responsibility beckoned her back to her post. She would never forget that fateful night, and not a day went by without a yearning for that wild-free life."
