Story of Xochiquetzal in King's Throne
"Xochiquetzal was an iconic figure among her people, known for her generosity and devotion to helping others. She would go out of her way to aid those in need, and many people found solace in her gentle presence. When she was out in the gardens, dancing and singing joyfully while picking flowers, even butterflies seemed mesmerized by her beauty. Unfortunately, Xochiquetzal's beauty was too alluring for most men to disregard; even though she was married to Tlaloc, many men pursued her. Tezcatlipoca was one such man, going so far as to capture Xochiquetzal during the Tozcatl festival in an attempt to claim her as his own. Though Tezcatlipoca had chained Xochiquetzal to the altar and begun the ceremony, she was confident that Tlaloc would rescue her before the union was sealed with a sacrifice."
